About Us
Byrnebuilt Engineering was first established in the goldfields of Western Australia in 1997, where we specialised in heavy fabrication and repairs of underground and surface earthmoving equipment.
Our family moved back to New Zealand in 2003, and Byrnebuilt Engineering Limited has been based out of Renwick, Marlborough ever since.
Over the last three decades, we have undertaken a huge range of work, including on-site welding, construction and earthmover repairs. Alongside this, we've also become more involved in New Zealand's wine industry by importing specialised viticultural machinery from manufacturers such as Braun Mashinenbau and Provitis.
Braun
We began service work on Braun undervine cultivation units in 2009, and in 2020 were appointed the exclusive New Zealand importer and distributor for Braun equipment.
We specialise in fitting Braun undervine cultivation equipment to a huge range of tractors and tuning them to match the vineyard conditions.

In connection with Braun Maschinenbau, we also have access to Provitis' full range.
Located in the French region of Alsace, they specialise in vine pruning and caring equipment such as trimmers, leaf pluckers and barrel pruners.
Penrite
In early 2025, we became a dealer for Penrite Oils Australia.
Penrite has a wide selection of oils for modern, vintage, and veteran cars. Our range is steadily expanding, and orders can be sent anywhere throughout New Zealand with no minimum purchase required.
Terrain Tamer
We are also a dealer for Terrain Tamer Australia, who have an extensive range of quality off-road parts and spares.
Rigourously tested in the outback, their catalog includes vehicle accessories, suspension systems and more.
The Team
The Byrnebuilt team have decades of hands-on fabrication, machining, and mechanical experience under their belt.
Adrian & Erika Byrne
The founder of Byrnebuilt engineering, Adrian is a boilermaker/welder by trade and runs the workshop.
His wife Erika is our admin department and takes care of invoices and payments, along with helping keep things in shape.
Morris Heywood
Morris is a highly knowledgable machinist who runs our machine shop and takes care of all your machining needs, including hydraulic rams, overhauls, line boring, and mechanical repairs.
Caitlin Byrne
Caitlin is our on-call trade assistant who helps out in the workshop when things get busy.
